Pastor Donald Antor is the son of Ron and Sue Antor. He was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois and has 2 older brothers. Donald grew up in Fox River Grove, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago located about 40 miles northwest of the Windy City.  His father is a retired firefighter and now works as a fire inspector, and his mother is a school secretary.  Both of his brothers are married.  Donald graduated from Cary-Grove High School in 2003.  After graduation he enrolled at Concordia University River Forest.  In May 2007 he graduated from there with a Bachelor’s degree in theology and a minor in Biblical Languages.  Donald has been a life-long member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Barrington, Illinois.  As he grew older he helped out there in many different ways.  When he was old enough he started to teach Vacation Bible School.  When he entered college he started serving as a lector (reader) during the worship service.  Another thing that he really enjoyed was helping out at his church when they did lock-ins.  Besides doing those things, one of his pastors would talk to him about what it means to be a pastor which enabled him to better understand what was involved in the office of the ministry.  Another church where he served was the one at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, Illinois.  In the summer that he helped out there, he served as a lector, help distribute Communion, and he would go with the pastor when he went to give private Communion to the people living there who could not make it to the church service.  Going on those visits had a great influence on him, just seeing the joy the people had from being able to interact with the pastor.

Donald entered Concordia Seminary in the summer of 2007.  He did his field work at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, Missouri.  While serving at Immanuel he helped with teaching 7th and 8th grade Sunday School, teaching adult Bible Study, being a lector, leading the liturgy, and also did some preaching there.

Donald spent his vicarage year in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at Redeemer Lutheran Church where he primarily focused on working with the youth group.  As the leader of the youth, he taught Bible Studies, planned events, went to a youth worker retreat, met with a “youth board”, and was one of the leaders for the National Youth Gathering.  Along with working with the young people, he taught an adult Bible Study one day a week, preached once a month, led worship when not preaching, and made hospital/home visits.
